Client Query 099:- Hello, hope everything is well at your end. Wanted to ask that if PIA has a contract with a vendor for VSAT Connectivity and the contract duration was of 03 years. As per agreement terms, the contract can be renewed for same period on same terms & conditions. You are requested to confirm that if the original contract is expired “is it extendable for further 03 years on same terms & conditions”. Will be looking forward to your response! Thanks

Answer:- As per your query, a procuring agency is required to proceed strictly in accordance with the standard terms and conditions provided in the bidding documents. However, these terms and conditions should not be in violation of the provisions of Public Procurement law, rules and regulations etc. A contract can be extended as per provisions of already signed contract. However, the extension period should not be long enough to restrict competition and level playing field for similar competitors.
