An Act to amend Act X of 1841

Preamble. FOR amendment (See supra, on page 8.)Act X of 1841, it is enacted as follows:-

1. [Repeal of section 13 of Act X of 1841.] Rep. by Act XIV of 1870.

2. Passes under Act X of 1841 to ships of Acceding States wherever built. The passes which, under section 24 of the said Act, may be issued for conferring the privileges and advantages of a British ship, in certain cases, to any ship or vessel built within (Certain original words have successively been subs. by A. O., 1937 and the Federal Laws (Revision and Declaration) Act, 1951 (26 of 1951), s. 4 and III Sch., to read as above.) [any Acceding State] may, after the passing of this Act, be issued in the like cases, and under the same restrictions, to any ship or vessel belonging to any (Certain original words have successively been subs. by A. O., 1937 and the Federal Laws (Revision and Declaration) Act, 1951 (26 of 1951), s. 4 and III Sch., to read as above.) [Acceding State or the Ruler or a subject thereof] wherever the same may have been built.

3. Registry of and passes to certain coasting vessels. All ships or vessels, of whatever and of whatever tonnage, owned by (Subs. by A. O., 1961, Art. 2 and Sch. (with effect from the 23rd March, 1956), for “British subjects”.) [citizens of Pakistan], entitled to registry under (See supra, on page 8.)Act X of 1841, or owned by (Certain original words have successively been subs. by A. O., 1937 and the Federal Laws (Revision and Declaration) Act, 1951 (26 of 1951), s. 4 and III Sch., to read as above.) [an Acceding State or the Ruler or a subject thereof] entitled to passes under (See supra, on page 8.)Act X of 1841, as amended by this Act, employed only in coasting voyages, or between any port of (The words “the Continent of” rep. by A. O., 1937.)

4. Fees for certificates of registry of such vessels. The owners of coasting vessels, registered under section 3 of this Act, shall pay for each certificate of registry-
for a vessel not exceeding the burthen of four tons, one rupee; exceeding four tons and not exceeding twenty tons, five rupees ; exceeding twenty tons and not exceeding eighty tons, seven rupees; exceeding eighty tons, for each ton two annas ; which fees shall (The original words “be carried to the credit of the Government of the Presidency in which they are levied” have successively been amended by A.
