An Act to amend the Marriage
Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and
Wasteful Expenses) Ordinance, 2000
WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Marriage Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and Wasteful Expenses) Ordinance, 2000 (II of 2000), for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted as follows:–
1. Short title and commencement.–(1) This Act may be called the Marriage Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and Wasteful Expenses) Amendment Act, 2006
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 4, Ordinance II of 2000.–In the Marriage Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and Wasteful Expenses) ordinance, 2000 (Ordinance II of 2000), in section 4, in sub-section (1) after the word “except” the words and commas “one dish, which means one salan, rice with roti and one sweet dish with” shall be inserted.
